Big Media is Big Enough Already:
FCC Media Ownership Hearing

On November 9, over 1100 people flooded into Seattle’s Town Hall, to send a message to the Federal Communications Commission: big media is big enough already. That was the night of the last and the largest of six public hearings the FCC held across the country, gathering opinions on the issue of media
consolidation.

Nine hours of testimony at the Seattle hearing left little doubt that the Northwest is unhappy with the state of today’s media landscape – with commercialization gone out of control, with big media’s narrow range of voices and opinions, and with programming that reflects corporate values, not community values.
